Effects of Brain Drain on Departure Countries

People want to live with better life conditions. While some people want better economic conditions, other people want better rights about politics. Therefore, if they live an undeveloped or poor country, they prefer to live in other more developed country. Of course, this situation damages this kind of departure countries. According to United Nation’s ‘International Migration Report’, there are three main effects on departure countries that are politics, economic and defense industry.
First of all, politics is very important for all countries. They are ruled by politics and they need efficient and strong politicians. When brain drain happens, many clever and efficient people migrate to more developed country and these departure countries lose a lot of efficient people. For example, a lot of politics science students cannot find a job easily in Turkey. After that, they immigrate Europe and USA. They rush politics in these countries and they succeed in politics. They are elected congress or parliament elections. If their own countries have supported them, they were going to become good politicians in their countries. In addition, when there is no successful politicians these departure countries, military and politics coups always occur such as African, Middle East, Middle Asia etc. countries.
Second negative result is about economy. A country can stand with a strong economy. Entrepreneur and efficient people are necessary for a strong and good economy. In undeveloped countries, business and economy students cannot find jobs and they cannot evaluate their skills. After, they migrate more developed countries. For instance, many businessmen are from different countries, especially undeveloped countries, in US. They could not find a job in their countries and they go to this kind of more developed countries. Therefore, departure countries cannot have good industry and economy.
Thirdly, countries that want develop are interested in defense industry. Especially, Middle East countries want to have strong a defense system. If there is an attack from outside, they can answer back easily. However, defense industry must have smart and talented people. These people are going to produce new rockets, weapons, intelligence tools etc. Therefore, their countries are defended by these tools. For example, many people who are related to defense industry were killed or they have gone other more developed countries in Turkey in 1970s and 80s. Thus, Turkey could not produce domestic and national rockets, weapons, or tanks. After Turkey’s preclusion about these people’s assassinations that are called ASELSAN assassinations and immigration of other countries, Turkey has started to produce their own products about defense.
Everything is taken into account, departure countries have three main problems that are politics, economic and defense industry. Talented, clever and efficient people are very necessary for all countries and they have to keep and protect their this kind of people if they want to develop. Brain drain can be prevented if these problems’ solutions find. Departure countries can avoid avoid their own experienced people’s immigrations when they governments support and improve these people. Then, this kind of countries will have started to develop and they will have solved brain drain problem’s negative results on them.
